Baby on Board

Well I never did get back, we had a work emergency that took me away, but I am back with the card as promised .
We are having a bit of a baby boom around us at the moment & in the last couple of months my niece & her husband announced they were expecting their first child, then one of our staff announced he & his wife we also expecting their first child. I wouldn't normally make a congrats on expecting card, but couldn't go past the sentiment " Baby on Board"  from a PTI stamp set called Enjoy the Ride.

Hope you like the card, I tried to keep it quite simple & not gender specific.

Stampin' Celebration Challenge

Just a quick post of a card I made for the Stampin Celebration Challenge, I kept it quite simple with lots of white space as per inspiration picture. I just love Daffodil Yellow It reminds me so much of my mother & its such a happy colour. The rose is made using theFancy Flower punch & a tutorial I found on the net. I have also used my scor pal to create to lines above the sentiment even though it a little hard to see in picture.
I would love to know what you think!

I have a couple more cards to share so I may be back later today.

Another Male Card

I am back with another card,  this card was made for another Brother in law who is also celebrating his birthday this weekend, he is a cabinet maker so this card should hit the nail on the head.....LOL!!!!

I chose the sketch challenge at Diva Coffee Break designs & I must admit it had me a little stumped to start with, but am happy with the end result although I could possibly change the Cajun Crush to a different colour.

Not sure I will get back with a third male card might have to start searching the stash for the last one I need..

Artistic Etchings Birthday Card

I am back with a card I made for my Brother in law Stephen's Birthday, I am sure he will appreciate it & not think it's to girly. I now have only 2 more male birthday cards to make for this weekend.

I followed this sketch for the challenge at Create with Connie & Mary & would also like to enter it into the male challenge at StampinUpLNstampers.
The card came together quite quickly once I had chosen the stamp set & DSP papers. I have finished off the card with lots of distressing with crumb cake ink & I have also spritzed the whole card with  Crumb cake.

Just Add Ink Challenge #56

Today I was supposed to be making some male birthday cards instead I ended up made cards for some challenges ( well at least I still have tonight & sometimes I work better under pressure).
The first card I have to show is one I made for the JAI challenge, as soon as I saw the sketch I new straight away that i would use the Just believe stamp set & Faux Silk technique, me made a similar one last week at my fortnightly classes. I haven't showed you that card yet as it is to go out to my Secret Sister next month.
I have stamped the background with the En Francis BG stamp & used the markers to ink up the flower.
I then applied glue stick directly onto white card stock & then pressed crumpled tissue paper onto surface & then trimmed off excess.

I am really happy with how this card turned out, these colours together are stunning & the faux silk adds a little texture.
Card recipe:
Stamp Sets; Just Believe, En Francis, Three Little Words
Inks; Early Expresso, Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler.
Card stock; Cherry Cobbler, Early Expresso.
Accessories: Neutrals designer button, Old Olive satin ribbon, Hemp Twine, Tissue paper & Glue Stick

Would love to hear you comments PLEASE

Colour Q challenge

Last post for today

I have another challenge card I made this time for the Colour Q Challenge & StampinupLNstampers . I originally started out to make some adult male birthday cards  as I need 3 for this weekend & thought these colours would make great blokey cards but I feel something is not quite sure so I think its back to the card table tomorrow to create something different.
It's also the first time in years that I have made a long card not sure what size it's called although it fits in a DL envelope.

White on White

Another quick post this one is for a new challenge site I found called Create with Connie & Mary
It was a colour challenge this week so I decided to use small amounts of the colours & the majority white, I have also used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder to give it a little texture & some dazzling diamonds to the flowers, which of course you can't see in the picture.
I would love to know what you think so please feel free to leave a comment.

Wow how time flys

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I last posted. I have been very busy with the first week of school as well as end of quarter paperwork for our BAS.
We also attended my nephews wedding on the weekend at Jamberoo. The wedding was held at Jamberoo Mountain Lodge it is such a beautiful setting & the wedding was one of the best I have been to. I would have shown you a photo of the gorgeous bride & groom, but they all look like they have been taken by a 2yr old & sorry no photos of the wedding cards either (yes I made 2 one from us & one from Mum & Dad) I didn't finish these till 11pm Friday night then we left first thing Saturday morning.

I do want to share with you a card I made last week for Makeesha's challenge, but the camera was not charged then I missed the deadline.
The card was made for our neighbour (see story below)

In between paperwork last week I looked out our window to see someone mowing our median strip thinking that's strange as I was sure hubby had gone to work, so I  proceeded to get out the binoculars for a better look (it's 500mt to the front gate) I then realised it was our next door neighbour, no big deal if you have a normal residential block, but our median strip is 200mt long. Needless to say we felt bad that he has probably done it before & we haven't noticed, so I thought a card & choccies would be good as a Thank You, not that he would expect something, as hubby does mow up to his gate from our boundary when he is mowing but that is only about 30mt.

Would love to know what you think.

Inkspirations challenge #55

This post will be very short as its nearly 1am & I should be in bed. I made this card today for the sketch challenge over at the Inkspration Cahllenge site, again it is one of those cards that didn't photograph well I have inked around all the squares & lace with crumb cake but it is actually much darker IRL.
Would love to know what you think, so please do leave a comment.

Holiday Time

I am back after spending 9 days in South Australia for Business, as well as visiting friends. I had to fly home early to do paperwork paperwork, Hubby & the kids are still there enjoying the beach & spending time riding their motorbikes on the sand dunes.

I have a couple of photos to share of the sunset we had one night. It was absolutely magic like a fire in the sky!!!! so we decided the next night we would take a trip down the road to capture some photos of the wind turbines at sunset, but were a little let down the colours were not as bright but still very pretty. (I suppose all sunsets can't be that magical every night)!!!

I hope you enjoyed the photos will be back later with a card to share.

A Beautiful Card for a Beautiful Girl

This card I have to show now would have to be my favourite from my three days of creative madness (I have a picture of the chaos in my room to share later).
This card is for a little girl who lives up the road & will be celebrating her 4th Birthday this week, the silhouette stamp reminds me of her when she is wandering about outside collecting flowers,  & of course pink is her favourite colour.

I chose to make the card following the Sweet Sunday Sketch.

For the card I have used the Easter Blossoms Silhouette & coloured in the eggs in the basket so it could be anything in there. I have also used the DSP from the Subtles pack for the background, my spellbinder dies to cut circle & scallop circle & finished it off with some white taffeta ribbon & flower button.

Now this is the mess it's actually two tables together & I have at least 20 ink pads 15 SU stamp sets Various other stamp sets card stock uncut & scraps asst of tools & embellishments, & of course rubbish that I should put straight in the bin as I go. I guess you can say I am a definite messy stamper.
The spot I was crafting from was about a 20cm square in the foreground of the picture on the left. It's amazing I could make anything, hubby's comment last night was "who made this mess".  I don't know who he thought it was as I was the only one in the room all day so I couldn't even blame the kids. I am off now to clean it just a little.

Flashbook to the 70's

Hi Everyone,
I am here this morning to share a card I made for my Sister -inlaws birthday. My hubby's family had a VW beetle when they were kids, so I hope she likes it Hubby thinks it's alright "Yeh alright with a nod" to be precise. Typical man!!
I first saw this stamp on Karen Thomas's blog (she does the most amazing work) & new straight away I had to have it.

I followed the Clean & Simple challenge layout, it really suits the stamp, I just hope she likes the colour.

Just Add Ink Challenge #51

I have been a busy girl I have made another card for the Just Add Ink challenge as well as designing the 3 cards we will make at next weeks Fundraiser for the Queensland floods.
The second card I have made for the challenge is for my sons Birthday next month.  I can't believe my baby will be 10!
The card I made uses the Extreme Elements & Extreme Dirt Bike stamp set, EXTREME is definitely how I would describe my son on his motorbike, he now is jumping about 15 mtrs, but would like to be adding some tricks like on the card as soon as he can master them. We have had a very lucky 6 years since he first started riding with no injuries. His first race was at 4years & thought is was great that everyone was clapping him so he just rode around the track waving the more they clapped the slower he rode & the more he waved, it was very cute & very funny.
Well thats enough waffling for now, let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

Card Recipe:
Stamp sets; Extreme Elements & Extreme Dirt bike & It's your Birthday.
Ink; Bordering Blue, Blue Bayou, Not Quite Navy & Pacific Point
Card stock: Not Quite Navy.

Please leave a comment & let me know what you think.

Just Add Ink Challenge #51

Back to show another card I made this evening for the Just Add Ink challenge which was a Theme "Monochrome". The card is not what I started out to make & when I was finished I thought it would make a good Sympathy Card to add to my stash.

For those who are wondering the two thin lines around the edge are drawn on using the marker, otherwise the rest of the card is pretty self explanatory.

Also Thank You to all the lovely ladies who left comments last week, we were away from Sunday morning so I didn't have time to look at all the other creations & leave some comments, will endeavour to do so this week.

Card Recipe:
Stamp sets; Just Believe, Teeny Tiny Sentiments & En Francis
Card Stock; Early Espresso & Crumb cake
Ink; Early Espresso
DSP: Crumb Cake from neutral stack
Accessories; Early Espresso ribbon, Crumb cake button & Linen Thread.

Stampin' Celebration Challenge

This afternoon I finally found some time to do some stamping, if you missed my regular posting it was because we had guests & then spent a lovely 4 days in Sydney with the family. Hubby had vouchers from his 50th Birthday one was to climb the Harbour Bridge & the other a gorgeous Seafood dinner in Darling Harbour, hubby enjoyed the Bridgeclimb & our Seafood dinner was divine. We stayed at Star City for the first time & could not fault the service or facilities or accommodation, enough waffling I am sure you would all like to see the card.

The card is for the Stampin' Celebration Challenge they have a new look blog so pop on over & check them out. I just loved the colours from the picture & new immediately that i just had to have balloons somewhere, bringing it all together was a challenge.

I paper pieced Bella's clothes as well as all the balloons, I also added crystal effects to the balloons & the icing on the cupcake for definition. I really love how she turned out it, looks like she is ready to attend the party in the picture.
I would love to here what you think so please do leave a comment.

QLD Flood Appeal

As flood waters continue to inundate Australia in what has been described as the worst flooding in 37 years, we express our deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones and homes and to those whose lives have been changed forever. We, like so many of you, feel a compelling need to lend support to all those who have been affected.

Stampin' Up! demonstrators have a long history of making a difference in the lives of others--especially when disaster strikes and the need is greatest. Nearly two years ago, we watched another tragedy unfold in Australia. Our hearts were touched as demonstrators, customers and friends joined together in support of the Bushfire Appeal. We've done it before and we can certainly do it again!

Please join with us by supporting the Australia Flood Appeal--a cause in which Stampin' Up! will donate $2 AUD of the retail value of sales from any stamp set (with a retail value of $30 or more) sold in Australia and New Zealand from 15 January through 15 February to the State Emergency Services in Queensland.

IN Addition to the above I will be holding several stamping classes With all proceeds being donated to the QLD Flood Appeal.

Clean & Simple & PPA challenge cards

I hope you all haven't fallen off your chair!!! yes I am back with another card to share, I just made this one when I got back from the gym ( I have just joined Curves & one of my new years resolutions was to loose some weight with a Weddding in Bali as an incentive.)

The card I made this time was for a couple of challenges & I must say it was one of those light bulb moments when you have an idea & the finished cards looks exactly the same.
The first challenge was The Clean & Simple challenge & the second was Pals Paper Arts be sure to check them out as they are a great starting point when looking for inspiration.

Just realised when I have uploaded the Clean & Simple challenge photo I didn't leave any space on the right hand side, so much so for that light bulb moment lol.
